Track review: Streams/at night by arrange Since the following release of Five Years With the Sun EP some press has been buzzing about it. With it being generally positive I decided to check out the first track of the new EP… The track starts off with a small ambient intro filled with nature sounds, does it set up an atmosphere? Sadly the answer is no. the voice effect that emerges sounds like lacey coming up from a dive into a pool, with no distinction of words it falls flat in effect. But as soon as everything kicks in, its surprisingly good. The filtered synths and background pads do a good job of making a wall of sound and attaining a shoegaze feel. Yet as the track goes on it seems to dull out like a cheap sparkler. And add the track progresses we are treated with an ambient outro, which seems like a copy/paste of old synth patterns with an EQ filter. Even though it has a dull beginning and end this track does get to be enjoyable, with a nice dreamy feel and shoegaze influence. 6/10 What should I review next? Email me at slashreviews@Yahoo.com
